Boden Profab - Carpet & Surface Protector
Is a water based solution of fluoro-chemical nano-particles which cures in air to form a water and oil repellent barrier on carpets and porous surfaces.
What does it do?
Profab forms a protective barrier that repels water and oil based liquids such as food & drink spills, dirt and grime, most paints and most makeup. It prevents liquids from soaking into the surface of the carpet making it far easier to clean up spills and reducing the risk of permanent staining. It increases the life of your carpet, reduces the need for aggressive cleaning chemicals and makes cleaning up spills a doddle.
|Protects against:||Suitable for: |
Unlike most water-based fluoro-chemicals, Profab does not require high temperature curing to give optimum oil and water repellent.Profab may be applied by both professional and non-professional users without the need for specialist equipment to give lasting protector on carpets, fabrics, stone, tiles and other porous surfaces. (Not suitable for silk).
PROFAB protects against penetration by oil or water based contaminants making cleaning of surfaces very easy – most stains can simply be wiped or mopped away. The protection is long lasting but will be reduced over time depending on wear, traffic and cleaning regime. Aggressive cleaners should not be required on PROFAB protected surfaces and their use will reduce the lifetime of the protective effects.
PROFAB should be applied using airless pressure spray similar to a garden type sprayer. The spray pressure should not exceed 60 psi and the solution should not be atomised. PROFAB should be applied evenly at the rate of 50 – 100g per sq. metre, depending on the absorbency of the surface. Only spray in conditions of good ventilation. The spray operator and anyone in the vicinity should avoid inhalation of the spray mist and suitable protective masks are recommended.
Drying time will be longer than with a solvent based preparation and this can be accelerated by the use of zone heating and forced ventilation.
